Gorgeous vase hand, with unique “pinching” towards top of vase, thrown, hand painted and carved by artisans in San Juan de Oriente, a small village in Nicaragua. Artisans throw pots using a kick wheel. Afterward, they are painted and then meticulously carved, sgraffito style. Their carving tools are typically repurposed from the spokes of bicycle wheels. Once the decorative incisions are complete, the pot is fired in a wood burning kiln, after which it is removed and polished. The final product is a truly beautiful and unique object.
For decorative purposes only. Not for use with water. Looks great with dried flowers or even just on it’s own.
